About Gordon Teele Farm

After purchasing their Pinedale, Arizona property in 1996 Pat and Cheryl began to investigate ways to put the land to use while enjoying the rural lifestyle. Nothing quite struck a chord however until one fateful day in 1997 when Cheryl picked up an airline magazine while waiting for takeoff and was introduced to the fascinating world of Alpacas.

Pat was not as immediately enthralled as Cheryl however but after a series of Alpaca ranch visits, exhaustive investigation, and a lot of Alpaca education for both of them, Pat gradually became receptive to the idea. The more they learned about these beautiful and gentle creatures and of the opportunities that they presented the more convinced the couple became that this was the direction that their future would take. In 2000 Pat and Cheryl moved into a newly built guest cottage on their land and began building their farm, and what would become their main house, from the ground up. As the farm began to take shape Pat spent hours on barn selection and design of the pastures, and on November 2, 2001 the Dempseys became the proud and happy owners of a herd of 13 beautiful animals.

Given Pat and Cheryl's strong family ties and mutual love of history it was only natural that when it came time to christen their new homestead they would be inspired to combine their Ancestral family names. And so Gordon Teele Farms was born.

With their 13-head starter herd comfortably in place, Pat and Cheryl began breeding their young females with the best of the males from around the country and before long became the overseers of a beautiful and healthy Alpaca herd that stood at 27 strong. Their second breeding season which ended in the third quarter of 2003 produced some very exciting results which now allowed them to offer not only fleece and other products, but also some of their prize animals for sale.
